Privacy

This notice explains what Fankle collects, why, and what your rights are. It is written for the beta and in plain language; it will be revised before general availability.

Who we are

Fankle (“we”) operates fankle.io. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: hello@fankle.io.

What we collect

• Account details — your email address, and a display name and timezone if you set them.
• Your board — everything you put in: captures, cards, messages to the assistant, settings, and the notes Fankle keeps about how you work (viewable and clearable in Settings).
• Voice recordings — if you use voice capture, the recording is transcribed and then discarded. Audio is never stored on our servers.
• Feedback — messages you send via the feedback button, with an optional screenshot you attach.
• Technical basics — essential sign-in cookies, and privacy-friendly, cookieless traffic analytics. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use it

• To run the service (performance of our contract with you) — storing your board, signing you in, sending account emails.
• AI processing — your captured text is sent to Anthropic (Claude) to classify and act on your work; voice recordings are transcribed by OpenAI. Neither uses your data to train their models.
• The daily digest — an email summary of your board, on by default with one-click unsubscribe and a toggle in Settings.
• To improve Fankle (our legitimate interest) — aggregate, cookieless usage measurement and the feedback you choose to send.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the processors below.

Who processes it for us

• Supabase — database and authentication (hosted in the EU, eu-west-1).
• Vercel — hosting and cookieless analytics.
• Anthropic — AI classification and assistance.
• OpenAI — voice transcription only.
• Resend — transactional and digest email.

Where a processor handles data outside the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

• Your board data is kept while your account exists.
• Cards you bin are permanently deleted after 7 days.
• Deleting your account removes your account and board data; residual copies in backups age out on a rolling basis.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) you have the right to access, correct, export, delete, restrict, and object to the processing of your personal data. Fankle makes the two big ones self-serve: Export my data and Delete account both live in Settings. For anything else, email us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) if you think we have handled your data badly.

Children

Fankle is not intended for anyone under 16.

Changes

If this notice changes materially, we will tell you by email or in the app before the change takes effect.
